Auld Civilization

Auld Civilization is the name by which the people that lived during the Fourth Age of Magic (also known as the Dark Age) reffered to whatever came before them. While some historians think of Auld Civilization as an ignorant and willfully despective name (“a goat-like name for a goat-like people”, as one noted Human noble reffered to it), it is the term that reigned supreme over the course of the entire Fourth Age and well into the Fifth Age, before The Return of The Dwarves. As is the case with most Fourth Age understanding of magic, Auld Civilization was known as a general term. No one really undertook the task of accounting for the many ruins scattered all over the countryside (appart for the heroic Earthly Angels, but their knowledge is rather accidental) and most of humanity went for many years unaware of the treasures they were stepping in.
